The president of Zambia, Michael Sata, has died at the age 77.
He died on late
Tuesday night at King Edward VII hospital in London, though officials did not disclose a cause of death CNN reports.
Sata’s death comes just some days after the country marked its 50th independence anniversary.
The veteran politician has served in other positions, including city council, Member of Parliament and cabinet minister for local government.
No word yet on who will succeed the late Zambian president.
