A leading contender for the 2015 Akwa Ibom top job, Owoidegheabasi Jacob Adiakpan has consulted the Peoples Democratic Party - PDP over
his ambition to become governor come May 29, 2015. Adiakpan who was accompanied by thousands of supporters made up of party faithfuls, women groups, youths, professionals, members of the clergy amongst others. |

In his speech, O.J informed the party that he joined the race because of his passion in making Akwa Ibom a destination of choice. He noted that was ready to continue the good works of Governor Godswill Akpabio while also implementing his agenda of industrialization, security, agriculture, revenue generation, tourism etc.
Responding, the chairman of PDP in Akwa Ibom state, Obong Paul Ekpo restated the party's commitment towards providing a level playing field for all aspirants. He urged Adiakpan to work hard in order to secure the party's ticket. Owoideheabasi Adiakpan is a former installation manager with Exxon Mobil and a grass root mobilizer from Esit Eket local government area.
