Football: Enyimba FC emerge Federation Cup Champions, Retain title!

Defending champions of the Nigerian Federations Cup, Enyimba have successfully retained the title after defeating their Port-Harcourt rival and
neighbours Dolphins 2-1 in the final match played on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The first goal of the game came in the 52nd minute from a left footer from 20 yards by the league’s record top scorer, Mfon Udoh. Enyimba went ahead to lead as they added their second goal 20 minutes later, as Chinonso Okonkwo scored his first goal of the Federation Cup.

Dolphins fought back Emem Eduok who clinched the Most Valuable Player of the tournament spot scoring in the 80th minute.

The Aba club, who were champions in 2005, 2009 and 2013, has become the eighth club to win the title back-to-back. Though losing out of the Glo Premier League title to Kano Pillars, this win has served as an alternative to them this season.
