Face of Niger Delta 2014-Victoria Ubani inducted into African Women in Leadership Organization


African Women In Leadership Organization (AWLO) inducted new members on Thursday, 11th December 2014 in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, one of them is Victoria Ubani- Face of Niger Delta 2014.The
induction is in line with the organizations goal of empowering women to rule their world; using their personality and office to affect other women in their immediate society.

The Induction Ceremony & Dinner, which was held at the Osun Hall of the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel- Abuja, had in attendance high profile women drawn from different spheres of human endeavor. The women gathered to lend their voices to gender equality and other issues affecting womanhood from the stages of a girl child, through to teenage, marriage and motherhood.

In attendance was Chief Mrs. Opral Benson OON, Chairperson of the organizations Advisory Board, Mrs. Farida Waziri- former boss of Economic & Financial Crimes Commission in Nigeria, Her Honor, Lady Valerie Ebe-the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Clementine Vervelde from Rwanda, Mr. Linus Okorie, Honourable Eno Williams- Vice Chairman of Mkpatt Enin Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Ini Akpabio- MD-Nanet Suites Abuja, Mr. Anietie Ekong- Media aide to Governor Godswill Akpabio, ace musician Zaaki Adzee, amongst others.

The guests were treated to thrilling performances by Jodie doing her hits Kuchi Kuchi & African Woman, the song goddess-Amaika, and Mish the Akwa Ibom Ayaiya crooner singing Every woman is beautiful. Elisha Attai, the convener and founder of AWLO was all smiles; he was elated by the turn up of African women under one roof to chart the noble cause. Also was the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom state- Her Honor, Lady Valerie Ebe, who in her speech, challenged women all over the world to rise up to enviable leadership positions; describing the woman's perfection in creation, stating that women were made from mans ribs and more refined for greatness.
 
Speaking after the induction, Victoria Ubani- Face of Niger Delta 2014 reaffirmed her determination to contribute her quota to the development of the girl child, which she hopes to achieve with her pet project Education is Key- designed to sensitize Niger Delta girls/women in the nine states and beyond on the need to acquire skills and formal education.
