Nigeria’s Super Eagles players Victor Moses and John Mikel Obi have both been nominated for the 2013 BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

The five-man list which also has
Ivory Coast’s Yaya Toure, Burkina Faso’s Jonathan Pitroipa and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon was released yesterday November 12, 2013. The winner will be decided by African football fans, who will vote through the web and SMS with voting due to close on November 25, 2013.

Obi and Moses have had impressive outings thus far, as both players were part of the Super Eagles 2013 squad which won African Cup of Nations held in South Africa.

Last year, Christopher Katonga of Zambia won the award, beating Demba Ba, Didier Drogba, Younes Belhanda and Yaya Toure to become the first winner of award to emerge from the southern African region.
