Ruggedman gets replacement as Star Quest host

Tinsel soap star and former Big Brother Nigeria Housemate Gideon Okeke has

replaced feisty rapper Michael ‘Ruggedman’ Stevens as the host of popular TV talent hunt Star Quest.

Ruggedman who hosted the last three seasons was missing from the stage last week when this year’s edition premiered. Fair-looking Okeke surprisingly stepped out on stage.

‘Ruggedman was exceptional in the seasons he anchored the show but Star Quest wanted to try a new person that is why we brought in Gideon Okeke’, a rep for Nigerian Breweries said. No other reason was given for the surprise replacement.

This year’s six music bands (comprising of six contestants each) contending for the top prize are Golden Clef, Quantum Vibes, Da Blingz, D’Rayz, Crystals and Soul Rhythm. They will compete for N3.6m cash prize, a brand new SUV, a N7.5m recording contract, a year’s accommodation in Lagos and opportunities to perform at Star-sponsored events across the country.
