Ebola: New Greeting Method to curb Virus Outbreak?

Since the outbreak of the Ebola disease was reported in the Obalende area of  Lagos State, Nigeria,  there have been widespread criticisms about our usual handshake culture in Nigeria. Despite the report of the disease being spread
through handshake, many have felt embarrassed by some who ignore their offer hands in salutation.

Due to this situation, there have been new forms of hand greeting. It is respectable distance with a palm-rubbing acknowledgement or fingers fold-raise style greeting. This was seen on Wednesday 13th August 2014, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Patience Jonathan, was pictured greeting officials and aides on arrival at the Gdansk Walesa International Airport in Poland to commission a training ship built for the Nigerian Oceanographic Institute for Marine and Research purposes.

Also some of high ranking officials have been seen demonstrating some other form of the Ebola-induced greeting style. Will this orientation help the situation? What’s your take on this?
