The First Finalist Emerge for Uyo Model Search

 Gladys Oyindamola John from Oyo State has emerged the first finalist for Uyo Model Search competition scheduled for May 6th, 2012 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Gladys is 20years old and stands at 1.82m tall.  

Uyo Model Search is designed to
be an innovative white ribbon model talent search competition, where Nigeria's emerging and top fashion talents will come together in one shinning nite! It is positioned as a vehicle of social media and a youth culture tool of advocacy for mobilizing public action against the crime of rape and brutality against young women. 

Successful applicants from all over Nigeria will be selected to participate in the next round of the competition, which will include a 9 (nine) day model boot camp starting from April 28th – May 6th. The finalist will appear in the live fashion spectacular from which the winner will be selected. 

Creative Director of Uyo Model Search, Mr. Ubong Ekanem of Kardynal Kommunkationz says... “We want to affect the lives of many young Nigerian girls for the better, and take the most talented and most able on a journey that will radically improve not only their own life prospects, but their ability to act as forces of positive change within their own community...We will be looking out for young women that are driven by ambition and passion.”  

The organizers of this model talent search have encourage young women who want to be white ribbon co-ambassadors and are blessed with the face of a model, heart of a lioness, height of a giraffe, grace of a gazelle and gait of a leopard, to play for a Brand New Car and + one year modeling contract worth N1million with K-Mode Management.

Uyo Model Search will be held in the city of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State – Nigeria, and is open to all Nigerian girls of any ethnicity aged 16 - 22 Years old, with striking look, with height standing at 5.9" (1.80cm) or above and maximum hip size not more than 37inches, with or without catwalk or runway skills.
