Akwa Ibom Strength Cautions Youths Against Election Violence


 Following the hovering of the 2015 general elections, a renowned sociopolitical group in the state, Akwa Ibom Strength has cautioned youths both within and
outside Akwa Ibom State against involvement of any kind in election violence, with a call on them to join avail themselves of the many opportunities to be part of volunteer organizations and make themselves useful to the society.

The group made the call while on a sensitization outreach recently in Uyo, where youths of Akwa Ibom extraction within and outside the state were gathered and given intensive orientation on the need to stay violent free, and be creatively beneficial to the society. The sensitization which featured some renowned social activists and prominent citizens of the country as guest speakers, also had some of the youths being granted free registration to some reputable organizations in the country and given sensitive roles to play, as well as some small scale empowerment grants to a few members of the group. 

 Speaking with a reporter shortly after the event, the president of the group, Mr Ekpeno Etim stressed that the group is all out to prove its aims and objectives, most importantly the aspect which aims at creating and making available a social platform for its members, as well as directing them on the right path when it comes to being part of the processes of leadership selection at all relevant levels in the state and even beyond.
